Valdy has been part of the fabric of Canadian pop and folk music for years. A man with a thousand friends, from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island to Texas to New Zealand, he's a folksinger who catches the small but telling moments that make up life.
Valdy was absolutely fantastic!! The comments are still coming in from the event and we could not have booked a better performer to entertain at our fundraiser. His open and personable manner has endeared all of our patrons and we would welcome him back at any time. If there were any negative comments it was only that they wished he could have stayed longer... Valdy reflected everything we stand for in his visit with us.

Folksinger
Valdy is a cultural emissary, one of Canada’s trusted spokespersons. "I am indeed a folksinger; I get involved with ANY style of music."
Entertainer
“One of the best evenings of entertainment Confederation Centre has ever seen… a man of formidable
talents.”
- Charlottetown Evening Patriot
“Valdy was great!
He certainly has a warm rapport with the audience and
went out of his way at break and after the show to
chat and sign autographs. He's a national treasure;
perhaps the order of Canada should be considered!”
- Mike Bernier, Chapleau Performing Arts, Chapleau Ontario
“Valdy was a huge success, we sold out and
the crowd absolutely loved him . He had a good time
and so did we. We'll have him back again, he's such
a great entertainer - it was a marvelous evening, its
going to be hard to find someone else after Valdy!”
- Roz McCann, The Village Playhouse, Bancroft Ontario
Valdy understands that people have come to be entertained;
he tailors each of his 200 shows a year to suit the
audience at that specific venue. "Valdy's show
is a disarming and practical blend of respect for the
audience and show business expertise."
- The Edmonton Journal
Valdy was fantastic!!! He put on one of the best shows in a long time. He didn't have time to finish the last chord before the crowd was up for a standing ovation. You know how some shows a few people up front get up first, and then a few more, then slowly all get up. Not at this show, just one big wave.
Kevin Morrell, Aylmer Performing Arts Council
Singer-Songwriter
His songs and his distinctive voice can be heard on pop radio, on country radio and on college/alternative stations; he does it all, well. "I cut my teeth on Henry Mancini; he taught me about melody. Combine that with a fine groove, and the rest is window dressing."
Musician
Guitarists pay attention to Valdy's accompaniment style; his guitar playing seems effortless, masking an underlying musical complexity.
