Demolition Derbies

Tis’ the season to begin derbying…. SMMAAASSSHHHH and CRAAAASSSH
It was a wet and wild start to Edge Motorsports Destruction Demolition Derby Season May 28 in Tillsonburg, Ontario. Fans came out in drove to see what turned out to be one wreck of a derby, but as the fans came out so too did the rain, quite common for the Tillsonburg derbies. The field was nearly 50 cars strong as well as a wicked heat of truck Destruction Demolition Derby (DDD) and a Dodge Caravan derby. The drivers and fans both battled the rain, and as the rain subsided just prior to the first DDD heat the real storm was brewing in the squared circle.
In the 4 Cylinder MINI class fans saw #18 Paul Eydenhoven of St. Thomas outlast and outsmash a very competitive JD LeBlanc in the 007 car. Congratulations go out to Paul for his first place finish in the MINI CAR CLASS.
In the BIG DOG 6&8 Cylinder class, Nyles Hoffstetter took the first heat of DDD action and Reg Bonneau ruled the 2nd heat of DDD. In Feature Heat of DDD it was MAD MIKE Stokes in 001 taking the crown of the Spring Fling of Tillsonburg 2005. 2nd Place was awarded to Dan Montour, from Hagersville, in Car #24 and 3rd Place went to Car #47 Reg Bonneau of Smithville.
If this DDD in Tillsonburg, is any indication of the action and competitive spirit we are in store for this season, then I can confidently assert that fans from all areas are not going to want to miss any of the action, thrills, chills and spills that your local drivers and Edge Motorsports will have this 2005 season.

Monster Truck Madness

Edge Motorsports started its 2005 World Tour on the East Coast of Canada with 5 sold out shows.
The first stop was the sold out Halifax Forum, where Edge Motorsports was privileged to unveil a new monster, “ANGER MANAGEMENT” driven by Scott Porier, joining the new monster truck was a list of who’s who of the Biggest and Baddest drivers and Monster Trucks including: Rick Rabb with the flame throwing AMERICAN GUARDIAN, Allan Pezo with the wicked PREDATOR, Jeff Bursey with the biggest and baddest tow truck around in TOWASARUS and Larry Jarzel with evil PROWLER.
All these nasty monsters came to play and didn’t disappoint the insane fans, keeping the pedal to the metal and leaving a path of destruction on the East Coast that will never be forgotten.
Edge Motorsports also had the high flying Freestyle Motorcross Team and this years team came to do one thing, IMPRESS, and that was evident with the tricks and sick air each of these riders had going on the Eastern tour. The team consisted of Canada’s own Paul Smith, Cody Cavanaugh and Shawn Conners both from the United States. These three riders where “shown the love” from the East Coast fans and in return they put both their equipment and more importantly themselves to the absolute limit with each jump and trick at each of the five venues.
Following the insanity of Halifax, Edge Motorsports traveled to Cornerbrook NFLD and had another sold out audience to awe, the aggressive monsters and highflying FMX riders easily completed this task with a deafening roar from the Cornerbrook fans.
The Tour then wheeled into St. Johns NFLD, where Happy the Clown showed off his hockey prowess, and took a little bit of thunder away from the Monsters, however the Monsters weren’t to be outdone by a skating clown, in St. Johns the Monsters left no stone unturned in the freestyle round and the FMX riders to their game to a new extreme trying an array of death defying aerial maneuvers.
The Edge Eastern Carnage tour then packed up and traveled to Sydney Nova Scotia, and a pattern was easily developing; another sold out arena and a stadium full of crazy fans anticipating the best Edge Motorsport had to offer. The Monsters all got some huge air, soaring to the limits of the Sydney arena, the FMX team also did not disappoint with Paul Smith a Nova Scotia rider that was given a standing ovation by his fans in his home province.
The tour then was wrapped up in Saint John New Brunswick, where the Edge plan was simple; PUSH EVERYTHING TO THE EXTREME, and with that the fans of Saint John left the arena with a ringing in their ears from the Monsters and memories of high flying FMX riders, begging the question “WAS THAT FOR REAL, or WAS IT ALL JUST A DREAM ?”.
The Edge team pushed themselves to improbable limits and definitely left the fans on the East Coast of Canada in pure AWE.
