On December 25, 2008, the Canadian music industry lost one of its pivotal veterans, and LiveTourArtists has lost its founder, mentor, visionary and friend, Doug Kirby. The Kirby family and LiveTourArtists would like to thank all those who sent heartfelt emails and letters, as well as the artists and multitude of well-wishers who came out to Doug's standing-room only Celebration of Life, held on January 12 at Hugh's Room in Toronto. In honour of Doug's ongoing support of up-and-coming young talent entering the Canadian music business, The Harris Institute of the Arts has launched The Doug Kirby Scholarship - contributions to this fund can be made by contacting The Harris Institute of the Arts.
